Day 16: Away With The Fairies & Buccaneers Backpackers Lodge , Chintsa West
September 20th, 2012
After a 2 minute pack up (yes, we’ve gotten good at packing quick – key: just shove it all in at once, sit on the pack and zip away),
We took one last view of Hogsback from Away With The Fairies 15 meter treehouse, an absolute stunning view. Said goodbye to the puppies and the very friendly and amazing staff, and took a shuttle courtesy of Away With The Fairies back to Chinsta!
We are back at Buccaneers Backpackers Lodge and absolutely loving it again :)!
This is definitely not a place that you can just come and leave within a day or two! If you love beaches, visiting local communities and safaris, this is the perfect spot!
Sal our beautiful tour guide and hostel owner, has generously been driving us all around Chinsta to see everything there is to experience. We visited the partnering school with Buccaneers Backpackers Lodge which is called Bulugha Farm School to watch a miraculous singing performance by the entire school.
Their voices and beautiful dancing sends shivers down your spine. I’m not a very emotional person (for the most part) but these children just brought tears to my eyes, smiling ear to ear. Take a look at our photos and videos, we will also provide a link if you would like to check it out and make any donations. These children are all incredible human beings and deserve nothing but the best! I’ve been here not even 2 days and I can tell you… I AM COMING BACK!
I need to come back. Next up on our daily adventures was the elephant interaction at the Inkwenkwezi Private Game Reserve . I’ve seen elephants in Canada and these ones are way cuter, much bigger and seem SO much happier in the wild space Inkwenkwezi has to offer. The guides were so knowledgeable, outgoing and humorous which made the experience that much better. We got to ride in a safari truck back to the main entrance and meet some more new Travelers :).
We are also back at Inkwenkwezi Private Game Reserve tomorrow for an exciting safari drive in the game reserve. PAUSE: what Alicia has been waiting for this entire trip is finally coming true! Haha
