Hello! I'm Jenna

World Traveller & Professional Blogger

Why escape a life I built on my own?

I couldn’t handle the real world, living in Toronto, Ontario, working a 9-5 job and living for those two lousy days between Friday and Monday. Those of you who don’t know me may not know that I suffered and still suffer from anxiety and depression. I found myself getting worked up about waking up every morning going to a job that wouldn’t make a difference and a job that at the end of the day wouldn’t teach me any new life skills. I needed to thrive, I wasn’t living.

I had no idea where I wanted to be in the future, I just knew I needed an escape out of this routine.

So, I started to run from my problems and hide in foreign places and cities. I soon started to realize that this ‘running‘ wasn’t running at all, but it was a window of opportunity for me to see what I really wanted in my life. Freedom, success and a meaningful adventure.

Today, I continue to discover the meaning of my life through new journeys – the good and the bad. One of the most memorable adventures I had was heading up to the Arctic of Canada in 2012 to meet my new nephew. I soon realized that there was much more poverty in my own country than I had ever imagined. I then developed an idea which I called Granted Apparel to help support Northern Canadians living in poverty.

No matter where in the world I am today, I hold a special part in my heart for Canadians. My home and native land!

This inspiration has allowed me to use my journeys today to help make a sustainable difference in the way we travel.

Please don’t mistake me as a world class eco-traveller. I am your average adventure seeking nomad who is on a mission to prove to herself and to the rest of the universe that sustainable travel might not always start by eating organic food, going vegan, camping in the wilderness and leaving nothing but footprints. I am here to show you that it’s okay to start with hanging your towels on the hooks, buying local souvenirs and simply just smiling.

So where should we start?

Well, here is a great place, and I want to thank you so much for taking the time to read my story. I am truly inspired by the people I meet and I hope to share all I can with you to help get you on the right track to where you want to be while being who you want to be.
