Day 22: Storms River Segway Ride

September 26th, 2012

The most peaceful town we have ever been to!

Storms River even on an overcast day is absolutely serene and beautiful. Very quiet, relaxing and all 4 of us passed out on the couches before 8:00pm.

Much needed, I didn’t know how much energy bungee jumping would be!

We finally decided to eat a nice healthy breakfast today –Tsitsikamma Backpackers offers both breakfast and dinner! I have always wanted to ride a Segway in Canada and now we finally have! I always thought it looked like such a challenge to ride. However, courtesy of Tsitsikamma Backpackers and Tsitsikamma Eco-Discovery , we were able to take part in our own 2 hour Segway tour through the Storms River township and the indigenous forest and plantation!

Though we were a little cautious at the beginning, it was easy to get a hang of the Segway and have a nice relaxed ride through the town. Absolutely gorgeous! Can I take a Segway home with me?!

The shortest Baz Bus ride today, about 45 minutes!

We arrived at Nothando Backpackers in Plettensburg Bay with PLENTY to do! Alicia and I haven’t heard of much in Plett but had our fingers crossed it was going to be enjoyable.

Enjoyable? Definite understatement! Nothando Backpackers has provided us with so many activities and lists upon lists of things to do, not to mention our unreal room! – Shopping, shopping and more shopping today! – Whale watching tomorrow morning – Monkeyland tomorrow afternoon – Birds of Eden tomorrow afternoon – Beach on Friday morning (not to mention a gorgeous beach)

Mr.Price was one of our many shop stops today and we went wild! After a 5km walk around the markets, restaurants and shops we cozied up in our double occupancy room with warm blankets, a tv, coffee and tea in the room ….. And my FAVORITE part…. There are 3 large cupboards on one other walls and the middle cupboard opens up into a huge white bathroom!

The most amazing idea ever – IKEA needs to take some pointers from Nothando Backpackers!
