Back in the Motherland

It has been 5 weeks since I returned home from Germany visiting Paul but time has flew by faster than I ever imagined. A part of me is thankful for that because the time I waited for Paul and Till (another fella I met in South Africa) felt like nothing at all.

I have almost solidified my plans as an Au Pair in Germany. The family is wonderful, I have my medical coverage paid for, I have began to learn German through my amazing Rosetta Stone program at home and I am anxiously awaiting my meeting with the German Embassy this Thursday. I have booked my flight for September 27 which is officially less than 10 weeks away!

I have been keeping myself busy on the in between time, working promotional events throughout Toronto and attempting to catch up with close friends. My Inuk family friends – Katie, Stephen and Shemekia have been in Ontario visiting for about a month and officially depart this coming Wednesday. My German men are gone and along with our Inuk family, my sister and my baby nephew Brody will be flying back up to Nunavut to settle in for a while. An emotional month for me but I’m trying to keep steady with jobs to keep my mind from wandering.

While Paul and Till were visiting we went to the cottage for a real Canadian experience. I forced them into meeting my ENTIRE family at my nephews first birthday in Bronte Creek, visited the casino and hotel in Niagara Falls, went down memory lane in St.Catharines (my old university town) and did some other touristy things downtown Toronto.

After so much university drama, a year of travels, working until I make myself sick and completing my Bachelor of Sport Management with honours…. I can finally say I have calmed down and I am excited to see where life will bring me. I have never met such an incredible man, I have great friends and my family is continuing to grow!

Needless to say, though I am going to be missing many people while I am home and then missing people from home while I’m off traveling, I am ONE HAPPY CAMPER.

It might be a while until my next post, I will be working for the next 10 weeks trying to save up for my next big adventure but I plan on continuing the blog until I have settled down from traveling into my first big girl job.
