It’s been a slow start to 2015 and I’m not sad about it, as my plans for the remainder of the year are about to ramp up to 150%.

I spent January and February in Dusseldorf, Germany as I tried to acquaint myself to the city I now call home. I have had a few people ask me “what about England?” and I’ll try to cover it all in this #LifeUpdate blog post.

The opportunities after I moved to Germany have been endless. A life that I once dreamed of and thought could never be possible, has now become my reality. It is everything I hoped it to be and more. I am so thankful for all the wonderful people I’ve met to date and all the wonderful places I’ve been that have helped shape me into who I am today.

One thing I did need though was my family.

You may read my posts and follow my photos as I travel the globe with envy and hatred, but I’m no different than you. I was terrified to the bones to travel alone and it wasn’t until I threw myself out there that I truly realized all that I was capable of. Though there always comes a time (for me it was almost a year abroad) when the travelling comes to a halt and all you need is your family.

familyI spent the month of March in Oakville, Ontario where I was born and raised. I was just lucky enough to be able to come home at a time where all my siblings were there.

Melissa (my sister) and Brody (my nephew) had returned for a short trip from Ulukhaktok, Northwest Territories… the north of Canada, whereas my brother has just returned from Vanuatu – an island paradise.

These moments have almost turned into opportunities of a lifetime. To have my entire family under one small roof, cuddled up on the same couch we all use to comfortably watch television on is such an incredible feeling.

The photo above was snapped moments before I got up to board the plane and jet set off back to Germany.

Germany

I’m hoping for weather like this when I return back as Spring has quickly sprung up in Germanland nowadays!

So what’s next?

I know, I’m not in England like I said I would be. Things took a little spin for the better, I’d say. The initial reason to move to England was so that I could pick up a full-time English speaking position abroad without difficulty. Luckily, after moving to Dusseldorf to spend some time with my boyfriends family… there have been ample more job opportunities sprouting up and my social media consultancy services have been extremely successful for me this month!

Though I’m not going to say that England is totally out of the plans for my future plans, who knows where I’ll end up.

What I do know is that I’ll be jumping into one of my BIGGEST ADVENTURES of my lifetime thus far!
