Los Angeles, often known simply by its initials L.A., is the most populous city in the state of California and the second-largest city in the United States. It is famous around the world for its Mediterranean climate, sprawling metropolis, diversity and as a major center of American entertainment industry. However, there is so much more to the city than just the big shiny things and it is these little things which should be the reason for you to spend your summer in Los Angeles. One of the most popular is the free outdoor screening of movies in summer. The list of options available is quite long so there is something for everyone whether you want to enjoy your movie on the beach under the moonlight or in the proximity of street food.

The businesses in Los Angeles enjoy summer as much as the visitors so they offer a range of discounts at special times in summers. The best places to avail these discounts include EMC Seafood and Raw Bar which offers fresh oysters at the meager price, for oysters, of $1 at its happy hour with special discounts on wine and beer too. Villains Tavern is another great place famous for its vintage décor and drinks crafted by highly-skilled artisans. Villains Tavern offers special food items for just $5 in its happy hours which runs from Tuesday through Sunday between 5 and 8pm. Places like The Virgil, Backhouse Restaurant, and Perch are also great places to go. For discounts in normal times, Groupon is your best companion.

The best venue to enjoy the Los Angeles weather is definitely a rooftop bar and thankfully there is no shortage of great rooftop bars in Los Angeles. The Andaz Sundeck is the highest rooftop swimming pool in Los Angeles which offers a panoramic view of Hollywood and allows you to greatly enjoy the sunset while you cozy up on your day bed enjoying some of the best-handcrafted cocktails in town. Other great places to go include Upstairs at The Ace Hotel, High Rooftop Lounge, and Sky Bar at the Mondrian among many others.

 

Picnic

There is no time better than summer to go in picnic and thankfully Los Angeles offers many great places to go on a picnic with friends and family. There is a beautiful secluded waterfall in Eaton Canyon you can reach after a short hike for relaxing and enjoying the beauty of nature.

 

Free Concerts

There are dozens of free shows in Los Angeles during the summers and all one needs to do to attend these is just get up and go. Levitt Pavilion offers a range of free concerts in the summers and so does KCRW. The Grand Performances at California Plaza is also worth looking for.

The truth is that there is a lot to do in Los Angeles during summer, all you need to do is to just get up and take charge and L.A. will not disappoint you.
