If you haven’t recognized via social media by now, I’ve spent the passed couple weeks kicked back and relaxed on a beautiful Greek Island called Ios.
If you take a look below, this is where Ios Island is located in comparison to Athens. It’s an easy ferry direct from Athens and can be as short as 4.5 hours.
On such a small island, there is quite a lot to explore. A typical day in the #LifeOnIos goes a little something like this:
10:00: Breakfast at Agalia Luxury Suites
Waking up to fresh squeezed orange juice and homemade Greek yogurt with local honey cannot compare to any other breakfast experience you’ve had outside of Greece. The Ios breakfast style is phenomenal and absolutely delicious!
11:00: Grab a Coffee and Relax at Koumbara Beach
Just a 5 minute walk down the road from the Agalia Luxury Suites is one of my favourite beaches on the island, Koumbara Beach. Soft sand, beautiful rocky pebbles and crystal clear blue waters. A little tip if you’re spending a while on the island, the Koumbara Taverna down by the beach is supposed to be absolutely fantastic for seafood lovers.
14:00: Lunch at the Free Beach Bar
Lunch and cocktails, what could be better? Oh right… the lounge chairs, pool and beach side events taking place at the Free Beach Bar.
15:00: Relaxing at Mylopotas Beach
Right outside of the Free Beach Bar they also provide beautiful luxurious sun beds. For a small fee you can book a stunning beach bed for the day including ice cold fruit, shots, fresh towelettes and a drink menu to choose from.
19:00: Catch the Epic Sunset at Pathos Lounge
Grab a cocktail (my favourite were the fresh mojitos) and relax along side the beautiful infinity pool while you wait for the sun to set. Swan lake takes the stage and makes quite a theatrical ending to the evening with the setting of the sun. Absolutely stunning.
23:00: Watch the Harbour Lights with a Glass of Wine at the Taste of Joy
Back at the Agalia Luxury Suites, I choose to head home before midnight and enjoy a couple glasses of white wine while taking in the beautiful sights of the harbour lit up at night. Of course you’ve also got the option to head into the harbour for a few more drinks and dancing too!
